FIVE SENSES

Related to the parts of the body, we are learning the five senses:

We can SEE with the eyes.

We can LISTEN/HEAR with the ears.

We can SMELL with the nose.

We can TASTE with the mouth/tongue.

We can TOUCH with the hands and fingers.

We are learning the parts of the body and related to this the five senses.👀👃👂👄✋

It is important that at home you revise what we do in the class because if not, the students do not remember everything.

Can you match the photos with the following words: body - head - eyes - ears - nose - mouth - arms - hands - fingers -   legs - feet - toes?

Atention to these observations:

*The word FEET (peus) is plural, the singular is FOOT (peu).

*In English we have fingers in the hands and toes in the feet, it is different from Catalan or Spanish : dits  o dedos in both hands and feet.

We have finished unit 4:A day at the farm , animals and parts of the animals.

But some students don't know yet how to use the expressions we have studied so I recommend you to work more in it.

There are two farmers. There are six chickens. There are three horses. There are four goats. 

There are seven sheep. There are four ducks. There are four pigs. There are nine bees.

It's got= té

It's got a tail. = Té una coa.

It's got a beak. = Té un bec.

It's got wings. = Té ales.

It's got feathers. = Té plomes.

It's got wings, feathers, a beak and a tail.

 In unit 4 we study the animals and the parts of the animals. We can say that an animal has got....... using the sentence: It's got.... = Té....

Examples: A cat _ It's got a tail.

A bird_ It's got a beak, feathers and wings.

Also: A bird has got a beak, feathers and wings.

(We use a/an for singular, if it is plural we can't say a/an. A beak, a tail, wings, feathers).

a beak=  un bec

feathers = plomes

wings = ales

a tail = una coa

Example: There are two pigs and four sheep.

Remember  in unit 3 we studied how to say if there is only one:

unit 4 : A day at the farm

 Hello students and families!

Here I am to say to you that we are studying now unit 4. In this unit we are going to learn some animals (farm animals), parts of the animals and the expression THERE ARE.

In unit 3 we have studied THERE IS and THERE ARE is the same but for the plural. In Spanish and Catalan we say the same: hay o hi ha, aquest és el significat de There is (there's) i There are but in English we use there is with 1 thing and there are with 2 or more things.

Examples:

There is a farm.- Hi ha una granja. There is a farmer.- Hi ha un granger/granjera.

There are two horses.- Hi ha dos cavalls. There are four sheep- Hi ha dues ovelles.
